MIchael Leary made his first gelatin silver print while serving in the US Army in Germany in 1971.
In 2000, he learned the platinum/palladium printing process from Kerik Kouklis. He was so struck by the tonal range and subtlety of a platinum/palladium print that it has been his main medium ever since. It offers the greatest tonal range of any chemical process and is highly valued by collectors for its longevity.
Mr. Leary has shown his photographs in San Francisco, New York and Miami.
