Dennis Parlante’s collage work includes correspondence and ephemera that he collects from thrift stores and auctions. His sensitivity to the subtle stains and the delicate handwriting on the letters and envelopes as well as the placement of the postage and postmarks combined with subtle brushstrokes “reframe” a moment in time. The work is more developmental then referential.
