Born: 1958 New York, NY Jonathan Taylor is a creative director focused on graphic and environmental design. He works with both residential and commercial clients throughout the United States, Asia and Europe. Born and raised in New York City, he moved to LA to pursue a career in television. Producing for talents as unique as Malcolm McClaren and William Claxton. After fifteen years working in the commercial television production industry in LA, Jon made the move to Northern California in 1999. In my career in design and architecture I come across many talented artists who have something to say. Like the forlorn house, idle and waiting to be moved in my Linden Road image, we and the objects around us, are all put here to create beauty. in the case of this show, a distinctly bleak American beauty. The photographer Minor White once said of his work "to photographs things for what else they are, not what they are." That sentiment best describes why I stop to look at the abandoned building, chilly horizons and architectural decay. These buildings, places, moments are ones of pleasure and great beauty. They are a way of looking backwards to see what we've gone through.
